Webinar: Embodying Fun Climate Activities that Inspire the Processing of Emotions and Constructive Hope

Spring 2024

Webinar Description

Fun is a silly word, but a highly productive space in which students can experience positive emotions and begin to process anxiety and grief around the climate crisis. Thoughtful attention to the process of designing and facilitating these learning experiences can yield deeply impactful moments that inspire youth agency. This workshop offered by Dr. Beth Osnes will focus on her work using performance-based methods for youth engagement and will expand on the topics brought forward in CLEAN's climate mental health and teaching across the curriculum resources. Osnes' work blurs the art-science binary to facilitate healing and a sense of belonging as well as engaged and connected learning. She will highlight what it takes to takes to bring these activities to students by reflecting on multiple NSF-funded, national and international projects.

Presenter

Dr. Beth Osnes, Professor of Theater and Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado
