Why these two choices?

With so many ways to teach about climate and energy, we opted to put materials into smaller pools to make searching easier. While the NGSS approach is not driven by a list of topics, it is helpful to divide the CLEAN collection into two broad categories: the climate system and the solutions to climate change.

The climate system encompasses Earth's processes relating to climate, climate history, human impacts on climate, and the effects of climate change. This category also includes the process of doing and communicating science.

Climate and energy solutions include all how we can respond to climate change. Energy, consumption, waste, and population all fit into this category. Efforts to prepare for and adapt to climate change are also included here.
