Webinar Description

Professional meeting modality has been through many changes over the course of the COVID pandemic. The NAGT DEI Committee will give a brief opening introduction that will be followed by a panel of meeting organizers to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of planning full face-to-face, hybrid and fully online conferences, particularly with respect to hosting inclusive meeting experiences. The final segment will be an open discussion by webinar participants about their experiences with different meeting modalities.

Webinar Goals

  • Hear from members and meeting organizers about how meeting modality impacts experiences and participation at professional meetings
  • Develop ideas and suggestions of how organizations can best leverage meeting modality options to maximize meeting inclusivity in the geosciences

Webinar Agenda

10 mins: Introductions of NAGT DEI committee members and Panelists

15 mins: Panelists will discuss their recent experiences planning meetings and decision-making process for in person, virtual and hybrid events

30 mins: Open Audience Q & A with responses from Panel members

5 mins: Exit Survey

Duration: 1 hour
Format: Presentations will take place through a Zoom Meeting screen-sharing session. The webinar will be recorded.
