UMass Boston also hosts the Center for Sustainable Enterprise and Regional Competitiveness. This Center strives to be a national model for a low-carbon regional economy through green jobs, education, research, finance, and policy. You can learn about this center here: SERC at UMass Boston

The Center for Governance and Sustainability seeks to bring academic rigor to real-world policy challenges in environment, development, and sustainability governance. The Center provides research, policy input, forums for discussions, and training tools in building a corps of academically-focused, sustainability minded business and community leaders. The Green Boston Harbor Project

The Green Boston Harbor Project aims to establish the first green urban harbor. It works toward a sustainable coastal ecosystem through education outreach, and monitoring activities in Boston, Wellfleet, and elsewhere around the country. Learn more about the project here: GBH Project

The Adopt A Student for a Green Job program encourages the growth of the green-collar sector in Boston's workforce. Local companies and institutions have the opportunity through this program to sponsor a student's study in the GBH project, gaining a student worker for their sponsorships. Academics

SERC is home to several major academic programs, which you can learn about here: SERC Educational Programs. These include a graduate certificate, an MBA specialization, an MS program, an Undergraduate minor program, and an Undergraduate certificate program.

Students at UMass Boston can study in the Earth, Environment, and Ocean Science department, the University's interdisciplinary environmental studies department. Programs of study include Undergraduate majors, minors, and certificates, as well as Master's degrees, Doctoral programs, and professional development. Outreach opportunities

UMass Boston's sustainability programs are in a growth period. Their GBH program is hoping to find new ways to partner with community organizations and folks from Boston Public Schools, especially through their Adopt A Student for a Green Job project.
